“Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.” — Kathy Calvin

Art has always been a powerful medium of expression, transcending barriers of language and culture. It is born from the soul, carrying an inner truth that seeks neither approval nor validation. It is an artist’s personal dialogue with the world, reflecting emotions, concerns, and aspirations. In line with this spirit, The Art Orchard: One Day Pop-up Fundraiser Show for Salaam Baalak Trust, Delhi, curated by Ms. Lily Narula, brought together a remarkable group of artists who channeled their creative energies into a meaningful cause.

This exhibition showcased a diverse array of artistic voices, including renowned names such as Hemraj,Ananda Moy Banerji, Alka Jhamb, Anju Kaushik, Joyattam Dutta Roy, Krishnendu Porel, Lily Narula, Navakash, Nupur Kundu, Pratibha Singh, Santosh Verma, Sanjay Roy, Sajal Patra, Shovin Bhattacharjee, Sridhar Iyer, Shruti Gupta Chandra, Uma Shankar Pathak, Vikram Nayak, and Vijender Sharma. The event not only highlighted the beauty of visual storytelling but also emphasized the transformative power of art in social change.

About Hemraj: A Visionary in Abstract Art

Among the many artists who lent their creativity to this noble initiative, Hemraj stood out as a distinguished figure in contemporary Indian art. With a career spanning over three decades, Hemraj has carved a niche for himself in the realm of abstract expressionism. His works—often monumental in scale—engage the viewer in an evocative play of form, color, and texture. Having exhibited in prestigious galleries worldwide and participated in international auctions, Hemraj continues to push the boundaries of abstraction, infusing his canvases with a raw, emotional depth.
