Rasa School of Odissi Dance Presented SVAHA

Recently, the Rasa School of Odissi Dance, New Delhi, presented SVAHA (an ode to the divine through Indian classical dance) at the classical dance festival Shrungaram (Goa Chapter), in collaboration with Kala Academy Goa. SVAHA was not merely a performance—it was an offering through body, mind, and soul. A sacred journey, a tapestry woven through mythology, devotion, and the quest for enlightenment. It allowed the audience to explore the depths of their being, connect with the divine, and experience moments of pure transcendence.
SVAHA celebrated the timeless beauty and profound wisdom of Indian classical dance forms—Odissi, Kathak, and Bharatanatyam—honouring the rich heritage of Indian culture and spirituality, and surrendering to the Almighty.
The theme gave the audience an opportunity to witness timeless choreographies by some of the great gurus of classical dance. The evening bloomed into a series of mesmerising performances by some of today’s finest dancers—namely Geetanjali Acharya, Lipsa Satpathy, Subrata Tripathy, Asha Kumari, Santosh Kumar Swain, Siddhi Juvekar, Aparna Gandhi, Varada Bedekar, as well as Mandira Tirodkar and the students of Kala Academy Goa.
The performance was held in a packed Black Box Auditorium at Kala Academy Goa. The guest of honour for the evening was Smt. Poornima Karekar ji, a renowned writer and folk researcher.
