KISALAYA: A Celebration of Young Odissi Talent and Artistic Heritage

With the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath, Rasa School of Odissi Dance (A budding odissi dance institute) in collaboration with Kala Unnati Dance Foundation and Kathak Kendra, proudly presented "Kisalaya" on 23 rd May at Kathak Kendra , NewDelhi — a beautiful evening dedicated to the timeless classical dance form of Odissi.

KISALAYA, meaning "fresh tender leaves," symbolises our young budding dancers as they take their first graceful steps into the world of classical expression — an art form where rhythm becomes prayer, movement becomes poetry, and expression becomes the language of the soul.

This evening celebrated not only dance, but also devotion, discipline, culture, and the nurturing of a rich artistic heritage passed down through generations.

Through intricate movements, soulful music, expressive storytelling, and sculptural grace, the dancers offer a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of Odissi.

Deepest gratitude to our Chief Guest for the evening, Vidushi Kumkum Lal, whose immense contribution to Indian classical dance continues to inspire generations.

We are equally honoured to have our Guest of Honour and Guest Artist Vidushi Arupa Lahiry, for graciously accepting our invitation and blessing this occasion with her performance .
