Commit to real equality, not just words. Supporting women means creating fair opportunities, safe spaces, equal pay, and room for leadership. Lasting change comes from consistent action, not one-day gestures.
Mehr Dhawan, a Grade 9 student at Pathways School Gurgaon, is emerging as a powerful young voice in the field of environment and sustainability, blending art, poetry, and community engagement to inspire meaningful change. Recognized as a sustainable changemaker, Mehr uses her creativity to spark conversations and action around ecological responsibility, mindful living, and youth empowerment.
Her early connection with the natural world guided her journey toward environmental advocacy. Together with her mother, Mehr planted over 30,000 Lakshmi Taru trees.
By Grade 4, her concern for the planet evolved into organized advocacy.
A defining milestone in her creative journey was her independent exhibition Duality. At its core, Duality examined the tension between preservation and destruction, fragility and resilience, silence and voice. Her poetry symbolizing both ecological vulnerability and the possibility of Revival. It questioned how society reconciles the shade of a living tree with the reality of deforestation and how progress is celebrated while environmental costs remain unspoken.
Most recently, Mehr participated in the Festival of Hope, where she continued her engagement with youth-led sustainable dialogue and creative expression.
Her advocacy has also extended to institutional platforms. She presented her installation The Cry Beneath the Surface to Department of Environment and Forest and Life in 2025 to Department of Industries. Mehr Dhawan’s upcoming Book is a collection of Poems and her art works of lats 10 years highlighting empathy, compassion, her lover for nature and creatures who make this world beautiful. What flows from within is a mission of life. Her contentiousness, awareness and initiative is an example for many. She spoke about narmada bachao and Chipko movement as an adolescent siting meaningful examples of Aral Sea with facts and figures shows her passion and spirit to contribute.
Mehr Dhawan represents a generation that sees sustainability as both cultural responsibility and civic duty. Through art, poetry, exhibitions, and advocacy, she continues to inspire thoughtful reflection and meaningful environmental action.
